Ten Thousand Parents to Receive Free Thank You Cards to Help Honor the Special Teachers in Their Children
Pear Tree Greetings and Education.com team up to help parents and kids celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week
REDWOOD CITY, CA – May 2, 2011
This week students and parents across the country will celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week by finding ways to honor and thank the dedicated teachers in their lives. Pear Tree Greetings, the leading online designer and purveyor of personalized cards and stationery, and Education.com, the go-to website for involved parents of school-age kids, have teamed up to provide parents and their kids with an easy and inexpensive way to show teachers just how special they are. Starting today, the companies are offering two free Pear Tree Greetings thank you cards to the first 10,000 parents who request them (shipping included). Orders will continue to be accepted until supplies run out. Parents are encouraged to write a personal note to their child’s teacher and to help their child write her own letter of thanks.
“This is a great way for parents to have a teaching moment at home with their children. As parents we have the opportunity to show our children the value and importance of saying thank you to teachers before breaking for summer vacation,” said Liwanag Q. Ojala, president of Pear Tree Greetings. “It will surely serve them well in their school careers and later in life.”
Danielle Wood, Editor-in-Chief of Education.com adds, “We all know what a huge difference a great teacher can make in the life of a child. Teachers today are being asked to do more and more, with fewer and fewer resources. As parents, we may not be able to reduce class sizes or increase salaries. But we can absolutely take the time to let our kids’ teachers know how much we appreciate them. And we can make sure our children do as well. We’re delighted to partner with Pear Tree Greetings in this program which makes it so easy for parents and kids to give the teachers in their lives a beautiful reminder of how important and appreciated they are.”
