Everyone loves to play the carnival classic game ring toss, but carnivals aren't always around to offer it. But while carnivals come and go, their attractions don't have to! The next time a hot summer day rolls around, try this activity that brings ring toss right into your home pool! All you need is some pool noodles and kids with very active imaginations, and you have all the makings to play Seahorse Toss, a rendition of the classic. This is a great game for big or small groups of kids of all ages.
What You Need:
- Pool noodles
- Plastic or foam rings
- 4 or more kids
What You Do:
- Divide the group into pairs. One partner will sit on the noodle, and the other will stand outside the pool on the deck.
- The player on the side of the pool tosses one ring at a time onto the longer end of the noodle, which represents the neck of a “seahorse.”
- The partner on the seahorse may assist in directing the neck of the seahorse to capture the ring.
- The pair with the most rings around their noodle at the end of the game wins.
Note: You may choose to have the player on the side of the pool toss the rings to the part of the noodle that is sticking out behind the player in the water for more points.
