This geography craft project combines two normal schoolhouse objects and combines them into a hip art piece and fabulous learning tool. The chalkboard surface on the globe tempts kids to grab their chalk and start mapping out their next adventures. Kids can get a hands-on geography lesson by drawing and labeling parts of the world, or also use it to practice writing and doodling.
What You Do:
- Wipe the globe free of dust and show your child how to sand down any rough or raised areas.
- Paint the entire globe with chalkboard paint. This is a great time to review the different continents or countries by painting them in one at a time. Where have they already traveled? Where do they still want to visit?
- Allow the paint to dry overnight.
Now they’re ready to draw on their very own blackboard world—or any planet, for that matter!
