Let your child feel like a "real" chef by helping him create his very own chef's hat! All you need is some poster board and paper, and your child will be donning this professional accessory in no time. The chef's hat is a perfect addition to any costume box.
What You Need:
- Poster board
- Old sheets or white paper bag
- Scissors
- Stapler
What to Do:
- To construct the chef's hat, help your child cut a 1/2" to 1" wide strip from the poster board. Depending on the length of the poster board, you'll need one or two long strips. This will be the headband for the chef's hat, and should fit snugly around your child's head. Staple the ends of the strip together so that it forms a ring.
- If you are using old sheets for this project, cut the sheets into a rectangle large enough to line the inside of the paper headband. Staple the cloth into place on the ring.
- If you are using a white paper bag for this hat, fit the open end of the bag around the paper head band and staple them together.
- Now just help your child write his name or the name of his bakery on the hat, and he's ready to go!
For added fun, make simple aprons out of the sheets by cutting them to size and decorating them with markers or trimming them with material glued to the fabric.
