Invite your child to complete your family's holiday gifts with the perfect gift tags created from the comfort of his very own home! It’s a great way to recycle old holiday cards, or even step outside into nature for some unique natural resources. Cut the holiday expenses this year as your child gets a healthy dose of fine motor skill practice.

Nature-Inspired Gift Tag

What You Need:

  • Leaves
  • Metallic gold pen
  • Hole punch (optional)
  • Curling ribbon (optional)

What You Do:

  1. Take your child on a walk around a neighborhood where there are an abundance of leaves. Try a nearby park if it is convenient.
  2. Invite your child to gather a bag full of leaves on his walk, taking care to pick the prettiest ones that he would like to use for gift tags.
  3. Ask him to use the metallic pen to write the "to" and "from" information onto the leaves.
  4. Punch a hole into the leaf (if desired) and attach a piece of curling ribbon through the hole.

Re-purposed Holiday Cards

Holiday cards are ideal to re-use as gift tags as many contain great images or words that can be cut out and affixed to the tags.

What You Need:

  • Assortment of old holiday cards
  • Scissors
  • Card stock paper
  • Glue
  • Pen
