Make Handprint Turkeys

What You Do:

1. Cover your table with newspaper.
2. Have your child put on an old T-shirt that you don't mind getting dirty.
3. Squirt each color of paint onto the paper plate.
4. Time to paint his hands! Paint the four fingers any color (these will be the turkey feathers). Paint the thumb and palm brown (this will be the turkey's head and body).
5. Now ask your child to “stamp” his hand onto a piece of paper. You will have to touch-up the paint on your child’s hand for each additional paper.
6. Using a thin paint brush, help your child draw the legs, beak, and waddle of the turkey. Allow them to dry.

You can easily turn these "handy" turkeys into note cards, coasters, or name place cards. For coasters and place cards, use decorative scissors to cut around the turkey and then glue onto colorful paper for a border. For note cards, help your child write “Happy Thanksgiving” inside.
