based on 1 rating

What You Need:

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped fine
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 1 ½ cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • dippers (see recipe)

What You Do:

Heat the butter and olive oil together in a fry pan over medium high heat. Add the onion and sauté for about 7 minutes, until the onions are soft. Stir in the salt and Italian seasoning and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool.

Stir together the sour cream, ricotta cheese and mozzarella cheese in a crock pot. Add the cooled onions and stir to mix completely. Set the crock pot on low, stirring occasionally until melted (about an hour depending on the crock pot).

Cubes of sourdough are the perfect dipper for this fondue, but you can also create a platter with a variety pizza toppings for dipping such as mushrooms, salami chunks, bell pepper slices, etc. Serves 8 to 10.

And if the girls love the pizza fondue for dinner, imagine what they’ll think when they find out it’s chocolate fondue for dessert!
