Necktie Cookies

Fifth Grade Father

See more activities in: Fifth Grade, Father's Day

Nothing says Father's Day like a brand new necktie. This year, give Dad a modern version of this classic Father's Day gift...but instead of buying a fabric tie for Dad at the store, why not make him a whole batch of edible ones at home? Much tastier and guaranteed to fit to a T, these go-with-everything accessories (they're particularly good with milk!) are the perfect gift for the man who has everything. Kids can play fashion designer and baker as they shape, bake, and decorate these sweet homemade treats.

What You Need:

  • Sugar cookie dough, chilled (use your favorite recipe or a commercially prepared dough)
  • Colored icing
  • Small pastry bag or Ziploc bag for piping the icing
  • Baking sheet
  • Table knife
  • Necktie template
