Reindeer Ornament

What You Do:

1. Have your child paint the recycled lid with brown tempera paint.
2. Let him cut a small oval out of the white felt. This will be the base for his reindeer's nose.
3. To create two reindeer ears, help your child fold a piece of brown fold in half.
4. Help him use a marker to draw a reindeer ear on the folded felt.
5. Have him cut out the ear. Make sure his scissors cut through the top and bottom pieces of the folded felt. Now he should have two reindeer felt ears.
6. Let him repeat this process to make reindeer antlers. This time he'll fold, draw and cut the antlers from the tan felt.
7. Have him glue the white felt circle on the lid to create a base for the reindeer's nose.
8. To give the reindeer's nose traditional Rudolph flair, have your child glue a red pom pom onto the white felt circle.
9. Let him glue on the wiggle eyes above the reindeer's nose.
10. Next, help your child glue the reindeer ears and antlers to the top of the lid.
11. For the final touch, have him tape a ribbon loop to the back of the lid. Now he's ready to hang his ornament on his tree.
