Tic-tac-toe is a great game to keep kids entertained on long car or plane trips, but it can take up a lot of paper and make a big mess in the back seat! Take this timeless game on the road with a homemade tic-tac-toe board that can be used again and again.

What You Need:

  • Construction paper
  • Colored popsicle sticks (4)
  • Glue (white school glue or hot glue)
  • Game playing pieces, 2 different types; 3 of each (pom poms or buttons work well)

What You Do:

  1. Cut a piece of construction paper to 7.5 inches by 8.5 inches.
  2. Apply glue to two of the popsicle sticks and place vertically and centered onto the paper. Space the sticks approximately 2.5 inches apart.
  3. Apply glue to the remaining popsicle sticks and place horizontally and centered over the first two popsicle sticks that were affixed. Space the sticks approximately 2. 5 inches apart.
  4. Allow each player to select his or her game pieces. May the best player win!
