Full Review:

Got a little monster who's feeling under the weather? This beautifully illustrated eBook features a gently captivating story with an age-appropriate pace, starring a boy named Harry and his pet monster Zub, who is suffering from a serious case of the sniffles.

Unlike some eBooks, this app has achieved the perfect balance of interactive elements and good old-fashioned storytelling. It comes loaded with interactive games and puzzles that kids will want to read and play again and again; instead of distracting from the plotline, the action helps to move the story forward, such as asking children to help Harry and Zub home by completing a maze. The app will read the story aloud, or you can turn that feature off so budding readers can explore the text themselves.

The book has a nice mixture of text and pictures—with interesting interactive surprises to search for on every page—and there's plenty here to keep your child independently amused for hours. Aside from the obvious reading, counting and logical skill practice, this app also teaches young children that anyone can get sick—but doctors, soup and some TLC go a long way in making someone feel better again.
