Full Review:

This award-winning, interactive storybook is a like love letter to print and the written word. Despite the fact that this enchanting tale takes place in the virtual space of an iPad, the love of physical books, words and paper objects is present throughout.

The story’s main character, Mr. Lessmore, is a fantasy librarian who lives in a world where books reciprocate the love that he showers upon them. The stunning graphics and breathtaking animations that document his adventures with his book friends all contribute to the excellence of this homage to print and picture books. Far from moving your child away from traditional reading, The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore makes this old-fashioned, book-filled world seem magical. The story can be experienced with a narrator, or read quietly to a child without music or sound effects. Pages turn effortlessly with a simple swipe of the finger and every screen has some sort of hidden interactivity—children can touch books to make them dance, sing or fly back onto their shelves.

The text is available in multiple languages, including French, German and Chinese. There’s also a short animated film that can be played in lieu of reading the story. All in all one of the most charming and engaging interactive storybooks ever!
