Giggle Gang

Fisher-Price's beloved Giggle Gang has come to the small screen! These cute critters just can't stop laughing—and children feel the same way. Boasting two levels to amuse little ones, this extremely simple app will prove most appealing to babies and toddlers. Expose children to a touch screen tablet with the first level, in which bouncing characters appear each time a baby taps the screen. Touch a shape to watch it change color and spin.

Once little ones have mastered tapping, swiping and engaging with this giggly gang, they'll move on to the second level, featuring songs, music and dancing. Introduce children to music notes with a brightly colored keyboard, and watch as they try out different notes and create their own tunes. Tapping the keyboard will help strengthen baby's fine motor skills, but toddlers and preschoolers who are already used to a standard keyboard may find the non-sequential keys confusing.

While basic color and shape exploration are touched upon in the app's activities, the absence of hues or shapes to refer back to makes it difficult for kids to correctly associate and identify these fundamental skills. Note: although this app is targeted to babies in addition to toddlers, the American Academy of Pediatrics doesn't recommend any screen time for kids under the age of 2.
