What we like best:
What you should know:
For straightforward, focused drill-and-kill math practice, this app is a solid choice for your interactive library. Kids Math Fun~Fifth Grade focuses on age-appropriate problems dealing with fractions, decimals, multiplication and division, as well as more basic math.
With its quiet "quiz" format, this app lets kids take their time and track their progress as they tackle equations. This is a more low-key tool than the typical math "arcade" game—there are no beeps, buzzes, ticking clocks or, unfortunately, much gameplay. The tests are presented in a matter-of-fact way without explosions or annoying characters. Kids can set their own pace, save scores and track their own improvement. The graphics are a bit dated but okay, and like others in this series, very gender neutral
There are no levels of difficulty to move through, so this app’s only useful for targeting grade 5 math skills. There's no penalty for wrong answers and kids are given lots of encouragement to try again, making it a good choice for little learners who thrive on self-paced practice and quiet study. If you’re looking for an enjoyable app to keep kids coming back for more, this may not be the app for you.
