What we like best:
What you should know:
Adding to ten gets a little tricky with this number puzzle app, which challenges your little learner to match numbers that equal ten on a lightly colored number board.
This is a quiet game with a simple premise—the longer the string of numbers you line up that equals 10, the more points you earn. Example: 3-0-1-6 earns 3,016 points; 5-5 is worth only 55 points. Both logic and arithmetic skills are required. This app is as addicting as a simple crossword puzzle and can be an absorbing option for road trips and study breaks. This app is best used as more of a puzzle pastime than a serious learning tool. Once math basics are mastered there is no learning curve—just more habit-forming puzzle play. The graphics are colorful and the sound is minimal and soothing—this is not one of those "in-your-face" apps.
The lite version is free so it's easy to add Match 10 to your collection of game apps without feeling guilty that the educational value isn't outstanding—in short, an age appropriate puzzle with some math thrown in as bonus. The free version is compelling like the paid; however, pop-ups for in-app purchases get old after a while.
