Math, math and more math—at heart this is a strictly educational app. The problem solving element to the game takes a backseat.
Full Review:

Match your way to math success with this educationally rich app. In the same vein as many classic matching games, your mathematician clears tiles off the screen by matching problems and answers. For example, she clicks a 2+3 tile followed by a 5 tile to clear both off the screen.

If simple addition is too easy for your child (and it will be after she spends some time on this app), don't worry: Match-up Math was made with long-term use and multiple grade levels in mind. Click into the settings menu to choose from addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals, then set the difficulty to easy, medium or hard. If you ramp those settings up to fractions on hard, even competent adults will have a math challenge on their hands. Instead of 2+3 equals 5, you're solving 56/7 equals 32/4.

A slight twist in the gameplay revolves around periodically rearranging tiles, but this doesn't take away from the math focus at all. The game is extremely kid-friendly, with natural gameplay (including a helpful "hint" button) and simple menus. The colorful backgrounds and crisp sounds add a healthy level of charm to what is strictly a math game.
