What we like best:
What you should know:
Purple plaid, striped socks and big, bold checks—too much? No way! Kids take the style reins in this awesome design app.
Mini fashionistas pick a tiny Toca creature to dress and then mix and match patterns, styles and accessories. Gameplay is a snap—simply select a model and then tap through various shapes and styles of shirts, pants and more. Tap on the sewing box to bring up patterns and colors that kids can drag to the "style" board to add to their design, and complete the runway-ready look with accessories and footwear. Each look can be saved in a virtual scrapbook. While not educational in the traditional sense, Toca Tailor allows budding designers to engage in open-ended play and create a virtual “look book,” tapping into creativity and imagination.
Bored of the colors and patterns provided? Not a problem—snap a picture of any object to create a new pattern from the photo. There's an instructional video just for parents on the home screen. The only noticeable drawback is that the app only operates in portrait mode—a landscape option would put this virtual artistic tool over the top.
