Education.com just got a makeover!
A few months ago we announced the launch of our newly redesigned home-page, and today marks the launch of our newly designed topic portals, grade-based portals and article pages. Those of you who were familiar with the previous version may wonder: why the change? In short, we wanted to do three things: make the pages simpler, make related articles and resources readily accessible and make the pages more interactive to our users.
Education.com provides parents of school-aged children with free access to information and resources to give them the answers they need. Parents have free access to thousands of articles, which can be browsed either by a topic such as Kindergarten Readiness or Bullying, by an age group from The Early Years to The Teen Years(13-19), or by grade from Preschool to High School. Our main goal with the new design is to make sure that you can find the information which you are looking for, easily and quickly.
Simple
We’ve made the pages shorter and cleaner by cutting clutter and streamlining them into a user-friendly format. On each topic page, long list of articles have been replaced by featured “Must Read” articles and an easily browsable list of all other articles on that topic. Similarly, on a grade-based portal page, long lists of articles in academic, social & emotional and developmental categories have been replaced with a pithier selection, and the featured content in each category is flagged with images and icons to make them stand out clearly.
Accessible
With our new design, users will have access to all related content and features right from wherever they are on the site. On a topic page, you can either narrow your results through our “Refine Topic” feature or you can navigate to other relevant subject matter under the “Related Topics” section. All the popular features of the site can be accessed through our new “Finder” tool - whether you are looking for a school, a book, or a fun activity to do with your child. If you like a particular author or article from a particular organization, you can now see all other articles from that author or the organization under the “Other articles by” module in the right hand column of each article page. The new pages not only highlight the featured articles but also what our readers are finding most interesting via the “Most Popular” and “Most Shared” module.
Interactive
Our new design also includes improved community tools which allow for many ways to access the wealth of experts and fellow users on the site. People can submit comments and rate articles as well as view the related discussions/questions, start a new discussion, or ask a question from any topic or article page. Content can be easily shared with friends and family with an easy-to-use “share this” feature at the bottom of each article.
We’ve worked hard, but we haven’t gotten everything right. Let us know what you think, so we can make it better! Please share your thoughts with us by providing your comments below. We’ll consider all your feedback as we continue to work to improve the site.

Looks Great! I think it’s the same content that I loved in your old site, just better presented!
