Black Hills State University

Black Hills State University is a medium sized four-year university in the remote town of Spearfish, SD. The school is on the semester calendar system and is a Baccalaureate College with diverse fields. There are 4,986 undergraduate students and 931 graduate students at Black Hills State University. The freshman class has 713 students. Students attend part and full-time. It is a selective institution with a high transfer-in rate; 89% of students who apply to Black Hills State University are admitted and 53% of those admitted students attend the school. The school has its own library and participates in Title IV federal financial aid programs for those who qualify. Black Hills State University is in the Dakota Athletic Conference.
