HOW TO GET MY CHILD IN A SCHOOL OUTSIDE OF HIS DISTRICT

MARQUIS7,
I've looked into intra-district transfer from our local school district.  What I have learned is that (especially if it's a good school) the only way to get it is to give the reason of child care.  That the school is in "direction of your job or babysitter, etc." In addition,  I wouldn't find out if my daughter got in until the very last minute, right before the start of the school year.

As far as I know, just about the only way that you can enroll in a school outside of your district is to request an interdistrict transfer. Information is usually available on the district website. I think that the criteria for approval vary, but I believe that most districts make decisions based upon space. So, if you want your child to go to a super popular school, it might be tougher to get approval.
