Just Wondering

My 5 yr old is a very smart, intelligent little girl she can say and spell her full name she also knows her age, her phone number, address and my name she knows her abc's, colors, shapes, she can add and subtract a little as well as she can count up to fifty, she knows the difference between right/wrong, same/different, she can even speak a few words in italian, spanish, cantonese and knows some sign language

I read to her constantly and she has no problem saying words back she just doesn't like reading on her own also she show little or no interest in writing I tried everything and nothing I was wondering if this could be a learning disability or could it be her taking her time.

She was not born early infact she was born 3 1/2 weeks late so I know it has nothing to do with her birth.

My daughter is pretty much the same way and I don't think it's a learning disability.I think that she will do it on her own when she is ready. Most children like to take time and learn to do things on there own, when we preasure them or try to get them to do things when they are not ready it makes them discuraged and not want to do things at all. I see her do things more if I just let her be and do it her self when she's ready. So I say let her do it when she is ready, that's what I am doing with my daughter
