Reading

Both my son's kindergarten teacher and his first grade teacher reinforced that the best way to get kids excited about reading is to read to them.  It seems to be working with my two boys.  We make a big production every week out of going to the library and they get to pick out as many books as we can stuff into our library bag.  They we read three each night (each boy gets to pick one and I pick one).  They'll also usually ask one other time in the day to sit on the couch and read.  I think having lots of books around, keeping them fresh but updating them often, and spending lots of time reading to your little guy will be a great start!
