Science course for LD student

Science course for LD student

Need ideas for a science course that works well for LD student.  Student has dystlexia so it would be nice if the program read to the student.  Looking for a fun, easy to use program that is thorough but not overwhelming.  Does anyone have any ideas???  Should be easy to implement.

Thank you,

Sue

Hello!

From my experience working with LD students, the FOSS science series is a wonderful program to implement.  The series takes on an inquiry and hands on approach, which is both fun and easy to use.  The company sends kits to the school that include all of the necessary resources and labs for each unit.  There is also a website, http://www.fossweb.com/index.php, which includes online activities, games, pictures, movies, and a special section called "Ask a Scientist," where the student can e-mail a scientist his or her questions on a particular topic.  I found that the Foss series is a wonderful program for LD students, as well as for all students because of its hands-on approach to learning scientific concepts.
