Communication with your Tween

What strategies have folks used that have been particularly effective in promoting positive communication with your Tween or Tweens you know?

Hi,
Last summer my son attended SuperCamp, a learning and life skills summer camp, and my wife and I attended SuperCamp's Parent Weekend, where parents of kids in the 10-day camp, learn a lot about communication skills. I'd recommend both SuperCamp and Parent Weekend - there's a program for kids 11-13 and one for kids 14-18. There's also a section at the website, www.SuperCamp.com, called Student and Parent Support, which includes a lot of tips on communicating with your tween and teen.
