I'm not sure if I'm the right person to make suggestions only because you say you are not working with meds. Perhaps you don't want to and I respect your decision.  I have two children.  One with Terrettes who was at first misdiagnosed with ADHD.  He is not, and never was, ADD and we now have him on the correct meds to help with his tics.  He is, however, RAD (he was adopted at four), ODD, and has behavioral issues.  He is 10 and I have just switched to Charter Schooling with him because of his trouble in school.  For the behavioral issues there is no magic pill.  My husband and I are working with a special therapist.  After six years of struggling with the "bad parenting" label, we are finally making progess.  I'll share more if you are interested.  My daughter is ADHD and has recently started taking meds to help her foucs.  It is working beautifully.  We have next to no trouble with her when she is foucused.  (Not the same when she is not.)  Though I wouldn't say all kids with problems should be on meds, her meds are helping her (and us) enjoy life much better than without.
