how do i know the signs of ADD?

My brother has ADHD, i know the signs of that but what about ADD?

 

My daughter who is  5yrs old and just started kindergarden,She is a very brillient child,  learns and catches on very fast.  She has a hard time keeping eye contact,  she can look you in the eye when you specificly ask her too, but not for long. Or if she wants something badly.  She is so emotional, fuses about anything.  She wants what she wants or she will scream out and burst in tears, throw herself on you, then the floor.  

She is a very brilliant child,  learns and catches on very fast.  

 

I Love her unconditionally. i just want her to calm down &  focus , so that she can succeed.   She always says " i can't "  when i know she can.   i would just like to know if any of this sounds familiar to any of you parents with children who have ADHD or ADD
