Center- or School-Based Program

A center- or school-based program is a child care program, often an after-school or before-school service, that offers supervised and organized student activities outside of the home. Often times, center- or school-based programs are based out of the child's school or community center. A common example of a school-based program is an after-school day care for half-day kindergarten students.
