Confidence Interval Definition

The Confidence Interval is a tool used to signify the reliability of an estimate in a statistical analysis. The interval is the range in a sample distribution between which it is expected that the population value will lie, given the particular degree of confidence. Typical confidence intervals used in statistical analyses are 95% and 99%.
