Early Reading First

Early Reading First is a program administered through the U.S. Department of Education to provide financial support to school districts and other eligible public or private organizations to better serve children from low-income families. Through the Early Reading First program, the Department of Education offers competitive 6-year grants to local education agencies to provide support for early language, literacy, and pre-reading development for preschool-age children, with a particular focus on students from low-income families.
