FAPE

FAPE, Free Appropriate Public Education, is a term used in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) to refer to the right of all students, regardless of disability, to have access to free and appropriate public education. To uphold the FAPE provision, school districts must ensure that students are assigned to an appropriate educational setting through the necessary evaluation, placement, and procedural safeguards.
