- Independent Variable
- An independent variable is a variable used in statistical analysis to help measure a dependent variable. For example, a researcher may be analyzing the various factors that may help determine the wage of an individual. The researcher thinks that the level of education, the age, and the field of work may be factors that affect wage. Those characteristics are independent variables that the researcher thinks may help measure wage.
