Language Dominance

A language dominance occurs when a person has greater proficiency in one language than another. The stronger of the two languages is considered that person's dominant language. Let's say that an individual speaks French and English. After reviewing his or her skills for both languages, it is determined that French is the stronger of the two. French, therefore, maintains language dominance for that person.
