- Moderate Mental Retardation
- Intellectual functioning that ranges three to four standard deviations below the mean (usually 40-54 IQ range), concurrent with adaptive deficiencies -- moderately or trainable retarded individuals can learn self-help, communication, social, or simple vocational skills but only limited academic skills.
