National Assessment Governing Board

The National Assessment Governing Board provides policy guidance to the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), which is a congressionally mandated project to collect and report on student performance in the United States. The board is an independent, bipartisan organization whose members (governors, state legislators, local and state officials, educators, business representatives, and members of the general public) are appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
