Glossary of Education
- Occupational Concentrator
- To successfully complete an occupational education program, a student must select an occupational concentration, similar to a major in undergraduate programs. In 2006 the Carl D. Perkins Act officially changed the name of vocational or occupational education to Career and Technical Education (CTE). An occupational concentrator, or CTE student, is the term granted to a student who selected a concentration through his or her occupational education and earned at least 3.0 credits in the occupational program.
