Occupational Education

Those students who attend vocational school in pursuit of professional preparation for a career or careers that such a school can support are participating in occupational education. In 2006 the Carl D. Perkins Act officially changed the name of vocational or occupational education to Career and Technical Education (CTE). Professional fields that fall under the category of occupational education include 16 widely recognized career clusters, such as agriculture, business, marketing, health care, and services in protection, technology, food, and industry.
