How are video games both similar to and different from other forms of media?
Similarities — What children see in video games and in other forms of media is not real life. Violent media can interfere with children learning social rules, understanding right from wrong, resolving conflicts without violence, and thinking about the consequences and fairness of their actions.
Differences — Video games are more active than other forms of media. Video games can allow for players to experiment with different personas and to identify with other players.
