Beat the Parents

Trivia games are often difficult for families to play together, but “Beat the Parents” manages to be fun and challenging for the whole family. Parents and kids go head-to-head to answer their own sets of questions and move their pieces across the board. The question cards for parents challenge adults on kid stuff, such as “In Harry Potter, what does Hermione use to go back in time? (Time-Turner)” The question cards for kids challenge them on facts their parents should know: “Do polar bears live in Antarctica? (No).” Whoever crosses the board first with both their mover pieces wins, but watch out for funny wild cards that can send you forward or backward! This combination of chess and trivia offers familiar gameplay with a strategic and educational twist. (Spin Master Games, $10.19)
