Even if the Wild West didn’t strike your child’s fancy before, she’ll become a regular cowgirl after jamming to this fantastic album. (And, by the way, so will you.) Songs such as a cheery version of “Back in the Saddle Again,” a bluegrass-inspired “Pecos Bill,” and a beautifully harmonized cowgirl version of “Happy Trails,” regale children with the cowboy experience. And true to the Putumayo tradition, the songs are performed by talented artists of the genre. The album comes complete with a booklet explaining the origin of cowboy tunes, most likely made up to pass the time on the lonely, dusty trail.  (Putumayo, $13.99)
