This mini work bench functions just like the real thing. Little woodworkers can hammer in chunky "nails", use the vice to clamp things into place, or work some magic with a screwdriver or wrench. Tools have thick, brightly colored handles, easy for preschoolers to manipulate. Large screws and a grid-like pattern make fix-its a pleasure. And when the work is done, handymen (or women!) can turn the bench over, transforming it into a toolbox to carry everything to the next job site. The whole shebang is made from rubberwood and colored with water-based non-toxic paint, so parents can feel good about safety, as they watch those fine motor skills bloom. (Wonderworld, $24.63)
