Word Rods

This simple stocking stuffer is great for early readers learning about consonant-vowel-consonant blends and rhyming words. The muslin drawstring busy bag holds two rods with letter blocks that kids can rotate to make real “c-v-c” words. The bag includes a card with suggested activities. Can you child make the word “can” or “dog?” Can she think of a word that rhymes with a word on the rod? Kids will also have fun making nonsense words like “dod” and “deg.”  The rods, made completely of wood, have a nice tactile quality, and are stamped with non-toxic ink, so they’re safe for kids.
