For a truly unique game of catch, put down the baseball and the football, and check out the Foxtail Sport. It’s a ball attached to a yard-long nylon sock, and you let it fly by spinning it from the end of the sock. The ball—about the size of a tennis ball and the density of a softball—is heavy enough to travel well but soft enough that it won’t break any windows or noses. You can play a game with it, where players earn points for catching it on certain areas of the sock, not the ball, turning the typical game of catch into a fun competition. This holiday season, get the kids running and playing outside with this cool new piece of sporting equipment. (Klutz, $10.95)
