Face Off! Air Hockey

Is it a science lesson or a toy? Kids can usually tell you in no time flat. But this ingenious set actually had our testers fooled…and their parents delighted. With a little adult assistance, (but not much!), kids can assemble a miniature working air hockey set, which comes with a very well designed and appealing book all about the science of air, air currents…and the science and math behind a good hockey game, too. Any kid that's been to an arcade or bowling alley has probably seen air hockey; but the opportunity to tie it to physical science is a most winsome feature for any parent interested in balancing silly fun with intellectual stimulation.(Smart Lab, $19.99)
