Think “Connect 4” for up to 4 players. Sounds fun and easy right? Well, there's one extra feature that makes this game super interesting: a “coordinate” marker that governs where each player may put down a piece on the bright green board. Like Connect 4, this game would boost logic, sequence, and strategy skills even without the added “graph” feature. But with the extra twist, it's a game that not only captivates third graders, but mesmerizes their older siblings as well. With students learning to graph and manage x and y axes by fourth and fifth grade (and sometimes even in third), this is an outstanding toy that builds familiarity with important aspects of visual mathematical thinking. Thumbs up all around for this clever game. (Educational Insights, $19.99)
