Skyrail Marble Run Roller Coaster

Your kid may not be ready to ride a monster roller coaster yet, but she can build one! This toy breaks down small for easy storage, but it comes jam-packed with more than forty feet of tracks, a gravity-powered elevator, and enough pieces to make endless loops, hills, spirals, and whatever else young engineers fancy. There are instructions, but the true joy of it is the fact that there's no "right" way to build and kids aren't limited to a handful of designs. As they experiment with endless configurations in an attempt to make the marbles roll faster, they'll get an introduction to the basic principles of gravity, weight, and speed. A blast to build, this toy will likely get some action long after the kids have gone to bed. (Quercetti Intelligent Toys, $84.95)
