Wits and Wagers
By North Star Games
Reviewed for 2009, High School
Think Trivial Pursuit crossed with roulette and spiced with an extra dose of social studies and math practice, and you’ve got this fun group game for four to twenty players. Participants start by guessing answers to a list of trivia questions. The “wagers” happen when they lay bets on their answers to see which come closest to the truth. Bets come in odds: two to one, three to one, and so forth, meaning that kids must explore probability and use some quick mental math. (North Star Games, $23.77)
