Books to Grow With!
by education.com
Here it was another company baby shower and we were racking our brains on what to give the expectant couple. Baby clothes? Nah. Stroller? Passe. In the end, our staff decided to go with something that we're all passionate about: learning. Where does it all begin and end? With a love of books, of course!
We figured everyone has a favorite book from childhood--you know, the one you made every member of your family read to you a dozen times before bed? So, each member of our staff gave the gift of their favorite read from childhood. They'll probably sit on this baby's bookshelf for a few years, waiting for her to pick them up in her own good time. But, that's half the beauty, because if there's one thing about these classics that we can prove, it's this: they have serious staying power.
Here's a sampling of the books that the Education.com staff gave as their favorites:
Horton Hatches the Egg (Classic Seuss) by Dr. Seuss
The Little House by Virginia Lee Burton
The Little Engine That Could: The Complete, Original Edition by Watty Piper
Curious George by H. A. Rey
Blueberries for Sal by Robert McCloskey
