We love this picture book!
Is your regular bedtime routine getting a little stale? If you've got a 4-6 year old in the house, get ready for Library Mouse, a fantastic new picture book by Daniel Kirk (Abrams Books).
Sam is a voracious reader. He raids the shelves for mysteries, picture books, adventure stories, and everything in between. Soon, he gets so inspired, that he decides to write his own. A big endeavor for anyone, but Sam is a mouse! After stapling together a stack of scrap paper and sharpening pencils with his teeth, Sam is ready for action. He finishes his creations and places them on various shelves throughout the library. Then he crawls into his little mouse hole, and waits.
Young children will love watching the anticipation build as everyone tries to discover the identity of the library's new mystery author. And, with a clever little plot twist and some heavy inspiration from Sam, they'll realize that anyone can write a book... including them!
A fantastic way to get kids excited about creating their own stories, this picture book is a keeper. Pile the table high with colored paper, crayons, staplers, and pencils. Sit down for a read. And don't be suprised if you spawn your own library mouse.
