Happily, some of them have filled the prescription the idea. Seemingly in response to the wave of childless gated developments is an unusual community in western Massachusetts known as “Treehouse.” Several families with foster children have moved there so that the kids can interact with a large group of “honorary grandparents,” elderly men and women who also relocated from across the country for the opportunity to share their experience, time, and affection with the kids—and parents—who most need it. And just like the most exclusive age qualified neighborhoods, there’s even a waiting list.
Nice to see some members of the older generation still want to stay in the game.
