A few words about me...
My interest in the education field comes from my own struggles with staying focused in the classroom and my observations of other students challenged by the same problem. After reading about many tools and strategies to help students with attention and focus, it became apparent to me that the issue needed to be better publicized.
This interest led me to study the effectiveness of using therapy balls as replacement seating in an elementary classroom. The most important lesson I learned was that each student is unique and deserves to be accommodated in the classroom. Sometimes making small changes, like seating choices, can make a huge difference in how a student behaves in the classroom, and for the sake of the student who cannot sit still, the intervention might positively change his or her classroom experience.
I continue to search for new ways to help students in the classroom and education.com has become a great resource for me!
